Alerting Monitor

Proactively monitor your data in Observability with features available in Alerting and Anomaly Detection. For example, you can pair Anomaly Detection with Alerting to ensure that you’re notified as soon as an anomaly is detected.

Create an Alert Monitor

  1. On the Alerting Monitor page, click the "Add New" button.

  2. On the Create an Alert Monitor page, specify the Name.

  3. Click the "Schedule" button to create your schedule selection.

    • On the Schedule window, you can select the 4 different frequencies.

      • By Interval option: You can choose how many seconds, hours or days the alert will run.
      • Daily option: You can choose what time of day the alert will run.
      • Weekly option: You can choose what day of the week and what time of day the alert will run.
      • Monthly option: You can choose which day of the month the alert will run.
  4. In the Data Source section, you must select one of the time fields in a given alias to obtain data sources.

    • Click the "Choose a Alias" button to select the Aliases
    • After selecting Alias, click the "Choose a Time Field" button.
  5. In the Query section;

    Note: The query field will be enabled after selecting the alias and time field.

    • Click the "Add Metric" button. In the Add Metric window, select the Aggregation and Field option.

    Note: You can add up to 1 metric.

    • After selecting metric, specify the Time range for the last option. You can select the Minute(s), Hours and Days for the range.
    • In the Data Filter section, click the "Add Filter" button to open the Add Filter page. On this page, you can select the Alias Fields, Conditions and Value.

    Note: You can add up to 10 data filters.

  6. Trigger is the structures that automatically initiate a defined action when specified conditions are met. Click the "Add Trigger" button to determine the trigger actions.

    • On the Add Trigger page, specify the Trigger Name.

    • Click the "Choose a Severity Level" button to select the Severity Level for trigger.

    • Specify the appropriate condition to trigger your action.

    • Defines what action your trigger will take when the specified conditions are met. Click the "Add Action" button to determine the actions.

      • On the Add Action page, specify the Action Name.
      • After the name section, you need to select your channel to notify. If you do not have a channel, you can click the "Create a Channel" button right of the Channels section to create a notification channel.
      • After selecting Channels option, you need to specify the Message subject and Description.

      • Information which triggers the action you created is related to its importance level will be sent to you via e-mail when the condition is met. However, if you want to add a different description, you can write it in the description field.
      • And then click the "Add Action" button.
  7. Click "Create an Alert Monitor".

Managing Alerting Monitor

Edit the Alert Monitor

  1. On the Alert Monitor page, click the Alert Monitor name you want to edit.

  2. In the opened drawer, click the edit icon next to Schedule section to edit the alert schedule.

  3. Click the "Triggers" button to open the triggers tab. On the triggers tab, click the edit icon next to triggers.

    • In the Edit Trigger section, you can change the Name, Severity Level, Trigger condition and Action.

Disable and Delete the Alert Monitor

  • On the Alert Monitor page, click the Alert Monitor name you want to disable or delete.
    • Click the "Disable" button to disable the alert.
    • Click the "Delete" button to delete the alert.
