How to Upgrade Light Compute

As mentioned before, Light Compute instances are simple instances that are highly affordable and low maintenance. Also, another critical feature of the Light Compute is upgrading. By upgrading the Light Compute instance, you can switch to Cloud Compute Engine without any loss or migration overhead. While you switch to Cloud Compute Engine (CCE) from Light Compute (LC), your current and remaining billing is calculated, compared to CCE, and the difference is refunded. So, switching will not cause any additional fees or wasted resources.

  1. While you upgrade to CCE from LC, there are 2 main paths to reach the upgrade screen. One is located in DT Cloud Console in the "Virtual Machines" tab in the "LC" header. In details of the LC instance, at the bottom of the page, there is an option as "Upgrade".

  2. By clicking the "Upgrade" button, the website will be redirected to the DT Customer Portal Services page.

  3. To reach the page, you can also simply log in to DT Customer Portal and click Services.

  4. In the screen select the Light Compute instance to be upgraded.

  5. In the details of the product, select "Upgrade/Downgrade" on the left side of the screen.

  6. Select your preferred Cloud Compute Engine product to be upgraded to and click "Choose Product".

  7. In the new screen, the summary and refund will be calculated and shown. Please check if everything is in order. By clicking "Checkout", the upgrade procedure can be finished.

  8. In the "Services" tab, a Cloud Compute Engine product can be seen and used. To manage, log in and other features, click product and get login credentials for DT Cloud Console.
